While a bad night of sleep, or a sleepless night, may impact your day at work, a chronic issue with a lack of sleep can cause major issues down the line. It&#8217;s not just about feeling sleepy throughout the day, it&#8217;s also about a lack of rest for your body.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t just sleep to give your mind a rest, you sleep to give your body a rest as well. If you aren&#8217;t giving your body the rest that it needs you are lining yourself up for some very serious issues down the line. This includes everything from a bigger risk for heart attack and stroke, to increased depression and mood disorder. Therefore if you are suffering from a lack of sleep it&#8217;s best to get things under control and understand whats stopping your body from getting the rest it needs.</p>
<p><strong>Stress Is A Major Culprit</strong></p>
<p>One of the biggest causes of lack of sleep issues is stress. Stress is an issue that affects everyone when they get to a certain age. Whether it&#8217;s stress regarding work, school or one&#8217;s personal life, sleep is something that always tends to suffer from having too much on your mind.</p>
<p>Of course, there is a difference between simply tossing and turning one night and having a chronic sleep disorder. While everyone may have a couple of sleepless nights due to stress here and there, if you are suffering from night after night of sleep issues than something may be needed to help you out. There are plenty of prescription and over the counter sleep aides that can help people get a restful night of sleep.</p>
<p>While stress is a very common cause of sleeping issues, there are some people out there who develop diagnosable sleeping disorders that make even getting one good night of sleep a week a near impossible task. From insomnia to sleep apnea, these disorders range from minor annoyances due to lack of sleep, to serious medical issues.</p>
<p><strong>Visit The Doctor If Your Lack Of Sleep Goes On Too Long</strong></p>
<p>The key to getting the help you need for sleeping disorders is to visit a medical professional as soon as possible. If you find yourself struggling to go to sleep night after night, you need to get help to not only so that you feel less tired throughout your daily life, but also so that you don&#8217;t do some serious damage to your body through lack of sleep.</p>
<p>Ultimately, you need to be aware of your body when it comes to sleep. There is a big difference between a night of tossing and turning and getting a lack of sleep, and a week of little to no sleep. If you can right off a bad night of sleep due to stress than fine, but if you have night after night of serious sleeping issues you need to get help. Call your doctor or set up an appointment with a specialist.</p>

Exhaustion may also be described as fatigue, languidness, lassitude, listlessness, lethargy and languor. Fatigue or exhaustion symptoms are reported by the patient as opposed to being something that is observed by others, which would be a sign instead of a symptom.</p>
<p>It is important to know the difference among the terms tiredness, fatigue and exhaustion. Everyone has experienced tiredness at the end of a long day. Typically all it takes to recover is rest and relaxation. Fatigue and exhaustion are quite different from tiredness.</p>
<p><strong>Fatigue VS. Exhaustion</strong></p>
<p>Someone who suffers from fatigue has difficulty concentrating and sleeping along with a reduction in stamina and physical ability. The person may avoid social activities they used to enjoy and this can not be ameliorated with rest and relaxation. On the other hand, exhaustion is considered to be more serious.</p>
<p>Exhaustion symptoms include numbness, delirium, confusion and inability to stay awake or even to fall asleep. Often the person exhibits <a href="http://whyamisotired.co/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/exhaustion.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-62" title="exhaustion" src="http://whyamisotired.co/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/exhaustion.jpg" alt="" width="234" height="300" /></a>complete withdrawal from other people. This serious situation usually indicates a deeper problem that requires medical intervention. You will occasionally read about performers who collapsed on stage and were subsequently diagnosed with exhaustion. These celebrities include Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Madonna and most ended up in the hospital with an IV in their arm.</p>
<p><strong>Medically Diagnosed Exhaustion</strong></p>
<p>According to the World Health Organization, medically diagnosed exhaustion may have many causes such as overexertion, pregnancy, heat and combat. Low thyroid, cancer and other medical issues may have fatigue or exhaustion as a side effect. Many doctors believe that overwork and sleep loss lead to exhaustion that contributes to long-term health problems such as heart disease, depression and gastrointestinal problems.</p>
<p>Exhaustion encourages low serotonin in the body, and this is known to cause anxiety, depression and insomnia. Exhaustion symptoms may indicate serious health problems such as coronary artery disease, diabetes, thyroid gland disorders, liver disease and kidney disease.</p>
<p><strong>Beware Of Misdiagnoses</strong></p>
<p>Sometimes exhaustion symptoms have masked or led to a misdiagnosis of a more serious disorder. For example, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic condition that thickens the heart muscle and could result in a dangerous irregular heartbeat. This condition was often diagnosed as exhaustion especially among athletes.</p>
<p>In fact, HCM is regarded as the number one cause of sudden and unexpected cardiac death for young people. This is why it is important to look beyond the diagnosis of fatigue or exhaustion for a more serious medical condition.</p>

<p>There are hundreds of reasons why people experience extreme fatigue. However, it is usually connected to some diseases. For example, if a person has hepatitis and the liver is affected, the person will feel extreme fatigue. The same is true for kidney failure, diabetes, heart disease, and many other medical conditions.</p>
<p>Obesity is also one of the <strong>extreme fatigue causes</strong> because people who are overweight tend to have a slower metabolism than the normal person. They also have a very weak stamina, which explains why they easily tire. Any normal activity for obese people will feel like a strenuous activity. Walking will be very difficult.</p>
<p>For women, the extreme fatigue causes can be pregnancy and menopause. While these are not diseases, they are normally associated with extreme fatigue.</p>

<p>When people feel tired, the most logical thing to do is to rest. However, if you are experiencing extreme fatigue on a regular basis for other reasons than having extreme workout for half a day, you might want to consider other things that could be causing it.</p>
<p>The first thing you need to do is to have a check-up to find anything that can pinpoint <strong>extreme fatigue causes</strong>.</p>
<p>Have your physician diagnose you because they are the best people who can help you with your problem with fatigue. Follow the management they will prescribe you, whether in diet or exercise. They may also prescribe medication, if for example you have kidney problems or hepatitis.</p>
<p>Being constantly fatigued is a symptom, a call by your body telling you that something is seriously wrong with it. If rest does not help at all, see your doctor immediately. There have been many diagnosis that patients made for themselves, not knowing they already have serious illnesses, among the worst case include cancer.</p>
<p>Stay healthy by eating a balanced diet, sleeping 8 hours a day, and having an exercise at least 20 minutes a day. These will usually prevent all the <strong>extreme fatigue causes</strong>.</p>

<p>Fatigue may be described differently by different people. In medical terms, it is often referred to as a state of awareness where it refers to different rage of afflictions that are often linked to mental or physical weakness. So what are the <strong>symptoms of fatigue</strong> anyway? Among the common symptoms is lack of energy, lack of motivation, weakness, difficulty in starting or completing tasks and lack of focus as well. Other more severe symptoms include fainting, rapid heartbeats, and vertigo.</p>

<h2>(Are You Living Every Day With That Question Like I Was?)</h2>
<p>I have a little analog alarm clock by my bed.</p>
<p>Every morning for years when I had to wake up for school and then work,my alarm would go off, I would groggily look at the time and move the alarm setting forward a few centimeters so I could get in another 2 to 3 minutes of sleep.</p>
<p>2 to 3 minutes would go by, then the alarm would go off again.</p>
<p>Guess what I would do then?</p>
<p>Yep, move the alarm a few centimeters ahead so I could get another 2 to 3 min of sleep.</p>
<p>Then the alarm would go off again.</p>
<p>I&#8217;d repeat this process four or five times right up until the point where my life absolutely depended on me getting out of bed.</p>
<p>And then I&#8217;d be late.</p>
<p>I basically repeated this process for about 15 years.</p>
<p>Guess what those extra 10 minutes fleeting sleep got me? Nothing. I&#8217;d walk through the day like a zombie just like the day before.</p>
<p>Starting from about a year ago, I now wake up with no alarm at all. (I still have the little clock but I don&#8217;t ever have to hear it&#8217;s horrific sound anymore <img src='http://whyamisotired.co/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> )</p>
<p>I went through the same phase that I think everyone else goes through who deals with constant tiredness.</p>
<p>Trying to treat the symptoms.</p>
<p>Coffee. Oversleeping. And the new craze&#8230;Energy drinks. (I also went through a thoroughly enjoyable iced coffee phase for a long time&#8230; But unfortunately it still led to caffeine crashes)</p>
<p>I also tried to go the healthy route and try drinking leaders of &#8220;greens +&#8221; everyday. (Not the tastiest route and also didn&#8217;t treat the root of the problem.)</p>
<p>so what helped me in the end?</p>
<p>Education.</p>
<p>The main reason I was feeling tired all the time was because I didn&#8217;t understand how sleep worked.</p>
<p>When you&#8217;re sleeping you go through 5 stages of sleep. In these various stages of sleep your brain waves shift and change.<a href="http://whyamisotired.co/visit/endtirednessprogram"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-47" style="border: 0pt none;" title="Tiredness" src="http://whyamisotired.co/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Tiredness.gif" alt="" width="185" height="282" /></a></p>
<p>It turns out these sleep stages are incredibly important in terms of whether you go through the day tired or not. You must complete two specific parts of this sleep cycle in order to avoid excessive tiredness during the day.</p>
<p><strong>The most important stages of sleep are the Deep Sleep phases. You must complete these phases and not interrupt them by waking up. When you are woken up forcefully in the middle of one of these deep sleep phases by your alarm you will be tired the rest of the day.</strong></p>
<p>The problem is these deep sleep stages repeat throughout your sleep cycle and are of different lengths for different people. The key is to discover the lengths of your personal sleep cycle. It&#8217;s easier said than done but it&#8217;s what has solved my tiredness problem. I have managed to isolate the exact amount of minutes my body needs to go through one of these cycles.</p>
<p>Mine is 108 minutes. A person&#8217;s sleep cycle can be between 60 and 120 minutes. (The norm is 90 minutes)</p>
<p>It&#8217;s crucial to know your exact &#8220;cycle time&#8221; in order to create a &#8220;personal sleep program&#8221; unique to you.</p>
<p>There are a few tricks on how to create a sleep program based on your personal sleep cycle lengths.</p>
<p>I created my sleep program by following the guidelines of Sleep Specialist Tina Hagen&#8217;s eBook: <a href="http://whyamisotired.co/visit/endtirednessprogram"><strong>The End Tiredness Program</strong></a>.</p>

<p>The main core of the program is the sleep program itself. The book basically takes you step by step through how to create a unique, personalized sleep program that will let you get the exact amount of sleep for your body. The trick is knowing &#8220;to the minute&#8221; how long your various sleep cycles last. This book teaches you how to find that information out.</p>
<p><strong>Just to be be clear I did have a tiredness problem. I did buy Hagen&#8217;s End Tiredness Program eBook. And it IS what has solved my tiredness problem.</strong></p>
<p>The core of the program is based around the sleep program itself, however the book is extensive and it goes over a bunch of other factors that also apply to tiredness. The book is 143 pages long and is packed with useful, step by step content.</p>
<p>As Rita Hagen explains, over 90% of tiredness problems can be laid at the feet of incorrect sleeping behavior but there are other factors that can play a part. The End Tiredness Program goes into detail on what these other factors are and how you can deal with them. Here&#8217;s what the book tackles:</p>
<ul>
<li>Physical Inactivity =&gt; Specific Plans To Implement</li>
<li>Stress =&gt; Relaxation Methods To Combat Stress</li>
<li>Dehydration =&gt; How To Properly Track And Maintain Your Water Intake</li>
<li>Stimulants =&gt; What&#8217;s Sabotaging Your Energy</li>
<li>Nutrition =&gt; Specific Nutrition Plans To Increase Energy</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The most effective part of the book in my mind is the Sleep Program itself (Which is the core of the book) and three other chapters:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>How to create a &#8220;sleep  routine&#8221;. This creates a pattern in your brain that leads to more consistent and effective sleep.</li>
<li>How to take the proper &#8220;Power Nap&#8221;. There&#8217;s a specific way to take naps that I was totally unaware of. (This was key)</li>
<li>How to create optimal sleeping conditions.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>After going through the program the best thing that came out of it for me, on top of eliminating tiredness throughout the day was the fact that I ended up knocking 2 hours off my nights of sleep. </strong></p>
<p>I now wake up 2 hours earlier and feel way less tired! It&#8217;s sweet!</p>
<p><strong>NOTE:</strong> There are several medical conditions that can lead to tiredness, so if you go through the &#8220;End Tiredness Program&#8221; and you still can&#8217;t shake the tiredness, be sure to check in with your doctor. However, for most people the program will do the trick&#8230;</p>

<h2>Chronic Fatigue Syndrome</h2>
<p>Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is an often diagnosed condition that  is said to exist in over half a million Americans. Energy levels decrease and  lethargy is present in the body. If you’re feeling tired for more than  24 hours, or your energy is depleted all the time, you may have Chronic  Fatigue Syndrome. The problem is doctors don&#8217;t seem to really know what causes it! Some think it&#8217;s some form of virus but no real concrete evidence exists as of yet to identify exactly what leads to CFS. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome seems to be diagnosed by doctors when they run out of ideas as a &#8220;catch all&#8221;! )</p>
<p>Symptoms can extend to muscle pain,  sore joints, difficulty focusing and concentrating on normal tasks, and a  large amount of tiredness.</p>
<h2>Menopause</h2>
<p>Another leading cause of extreme tiredness in women is menopause. It  can lead to having an overwhelming sense of weakness, exhaustion,  sleepiness, and less energy to devote to everyday, normal tasks. A  person suffering from fatigue would possess a lack of willpower,  motivation, and may have the desire to sleep.</p>
<p>In turn, these symptoms could lead to anger, abusive behavior,  bitterness, and other negative behaviors. <i>Extreme fatigue in women</i> may  also cause stress, shortness of breath, night sweats, and a sudden  change in weight.<br />
Usually, menopause leads to a hormonal imbalance in the body, which in  turns leads to <u>extreme fatigue in women</u>. The life processes taking place  in the body usually require homeostasis, as does estrogen production.  Maintaining the correct cholesterol levels, constructing tissues, and  maintaining blood flow are processes all affected by menopause. If  you’re suffering from such similar symptoms, talk to an expert or  physician.</p>
<p>However, there are other possible causes of extreme fatigue that should be ruled out as well. These can be more serious maladies of which extreme fatigue is a symptom.</p>
<p>Lyme Disease</p>
<ul>
<li>Lyme disease can be transmitted to people through the bites of a tick. It can cause symptoms such as fever, rash, aching / soreness, weakness, and joint swelling.  It can also cause extreme fatigue in women and men.</li>
</ul>
<p>Anemia</p>
<ul>
<li>Another common cause of extreme fatigue in women is anemia. Anemia is a condition where the body has less blood than normal. As a result, there are fewer red blood cells (which carry oxygen) in the body. Symptoms of anemia can include shortness of breath, dizziness, and tiredness.</li>
</ul>
<p>Hematochromatosis</p>
<ul>
<li>This is a disease that affects the human liver. When iron accumulates in the liver beyond the normal amount, it can lead to extreme fatigue in women and men. This condition requires immediate medical attention. Some symptoms are: graying skin, arthritis, soreness and cirrhosis.</li>
</ul>
<p>Extreme fatigue in women can be caused by any of a variety of factors and conditions. In order to tell what it might be, you have to closely examine symptoms that exist along with the fatigue. Doing so will reveal to you what condition you might have.</p>

<p>Eating breakfast is a simple, but effective, way to provide more energy throughout your day. Often, people will skip this crucial meal when they’re in a hurry to accomplish something or go somewhere. What they fail to realize is that constant tiredness stems often from the body not having proper nutrition or enough fuel to function properly.</p>
<p>Your diet is a major factor in your body’s overall state of health and energy. Eating meals that are high in fats, sodium, and sugars will have a negative effect on your health and levels of energy. It’s important to eat from all the different food groups and decrease empty excess calories. Eating in moderation will help you feel more brisk and energetic, and is a good way to combat constant tiredness.</p>
<p>Exercise is another quick and useful method to deal with constant tiredness. If working all the time usually leads to not getting enough physical activity, you should begin doing something to change that. Start walking briskly from place to place when out and about. Taking short walks can actually be more effective than taking naps, as they leave your body with an improved state of mind, more energy and greater blood circulation.</p>
<p>Short, effective naps will also do more for you than a great sleep. For example, napping for 20-30 minutes leaves you feeling refreshed and invigorated. However, sleeping for a longer period of time will enter you into the “Deep sleep” cycle, leaving you weary and confused. Additionally, sleeping for long periods during the day will leave you with constant tiredness, struggling to sleep at night.</p>
<p>These methods will help you deal with constant tiredness.</p>
